Upgrading a phone?  Only the Fairphone 2 can do this

The Fairphone 2 is one of the very few mobile phones with a modular design capable of being upgraded.  At the time of purchase it was promised that new camera modules would be available.  This year, they kept that promise.

The upgrade process is very simple and only needs a small Philips screwdriver.

Power down the phone and remove the cover (which just unclips).  Unplug the battery, slide the clips that release the screen and remove it.  Unscrew the three screws that allow the camera module to be lifted off and swap it over.  Reverse this to reassemble.

The phone automatically recognises the new camera module.  Job done.
