CHEOPS is a Space Telescope observing primarily exoplanets transiting their host stars.
As a close colleague left our beloved project, I created this gift to remind him of CHEOPS. This is a ‘sliced’ PSF made of wood, where each slice has been cut in plywood using the Pangloss Lab laser cutter machine.
The PSF is formally the Point Spread Function of the telescope, or in other words it represents what a star would look like when observed with the telescope.
