Lichtenburg figures are lightning shaped burns in wood.  But lightning is difficult to predict, so there are techniques to simulate it to a certain extent.  We (very carefully) used a very low current 10,000V power supply (NOT a microwave3 transformer) to burn lightenburg figures in wood.  The results can be beautiful.
