What if a fablab played it’s part in the reindustrialization of France, growing to provide local, professional, manufacturing services?   That is the aim of the “Manufacture de Proximité” program, part of the national “France Relance” effort.

Pangloss Labs has been accorded the label “Manufacture de Proximité” which comes with financial support from the national government under the France Relance program.

They are productive third spaces, which animate and bring services to a professional community of craftsmen. They aim to encourage the pooling of machines and services; to animate a community; to develop training and to promote skills upgrading; to develop common and cooperative projects. They are at the heart of transitions and new concerns in terms of production. They play a role in the digital transition and promote the ecological transition through the development of short circuits, recycling and eco-design, by sharing tools and skills.

Our action plan as a “Manufacture de proximité” includes increasing the manufacturing capacity of our Fablab, developing a professional service centre to support local companies and developing professional training activities.

We are developing cross-border cooperation with a number of universities and schools: USMB, UNIGE and HEPIA. We provide prototyping and experimental support for the new renewable energy eco-system that is being developed in and around Hotspot , the first building of the Ferney Genève Innovation project.

Phase one is a four month incubation/acceleration program, starting in June 2022.

Phase 2 is the execution of the project, scheduled to last two years.
